Stop Motion Animation - Misunderstood (by maibell82)
Misunderstood
My completed Stop Motion Animation :) I have finally finished and it’s uploaded and ready to be viewed.
A big thank you to Michael at Relaxdaily, for giving me permission to use the background music for my animation.

This is another short stop motion animation test piece that I did. I was at one point considering using Lego in my animation, so I created a quick animation to see what the results would be like. I had found through my research that many animations already existed using Lego, and this is one of the reasons I decided not to go with this idea. I did learn from this experiment though, I found that I need to look at the whole picture and not just at what is being animated. In this animation there are obvious errors with the background, that not only distract the eye, but also make the animation effect look shabby and it doesn’t look like a smooth running animation of the characters.
Here is one of the test pieces I did prior to starting my Stop Motion Animation. It was created for experimental purposes as I wanted to see how easy it would be to animate small square pieces of paper and to see the effect I would get in using this material. The effect it gave worked well and this is the reason I chose to use it in my animation. I did find out from this experiment that the paper was difficult to manipulate, and moved about when trying to move only select pieces, this is when I decided that I would use blue-tac to hold the squares where I needed them to be.
WOW this is amazing!
Came across the work of John Pugh whilst researching for my current project. It is mind flipping, i love it :)

Here is a preview of what I am working on at the moment for my stop motion animation project at college. It is my first attempt at stop motion and my animation is very rough at the moment. It’s not yet finished, and I need to edit parts of what I have done so far. At this point I have taken around 210 pictures and completed about 8 of the 20 scenes I want to create. There are no words or music yet, but I have put together something unique to go with the animation! I will be editing it properly next week, once I have completed the whole animation.

Another brilliant stop motion animation, really enjoyed this one. See what you think! Reminds me of the work done by BLU.
Change: The Happiest Stop Motion Video Ever (by mikekrbnz)
This stop motion shows there are no limits to what you can animate! Only your imagination can hold you back. :)
Whilst researching stop motion animation for my current project, I came across some work produced by a company called Zealous Creative. They have created a couple of short animated films which have been very successful, two of which are called Zero and The Maker.
This animation ties in nicely with my current project on conflicts and stereotypes, the singling out and grouping of individuals who may appear to be the same through how they look; what they have done or associated with the mistakes of others.
The concept behind the animation of Zero is what caught my eye to begin with, the description read, ‘How can nothing be something? Born into a world of numbers’. The animation tells a touching story about belonging, acceptance and love, and about a society’s discrimination towards individuals. It is brought to life though the creative use of characters, using materials that you would normally associate with cuddly toys, the use of wool gives them a warm, likeable feeling, which helps to pull those heart strings, when you see something that looks good and then it turns evil. I believe that even if there were no words spoken, you would still be able to understand the meaning behind this video.
The work that has gone into making this is amazing. I looked at a video, about the making of Zero, you can see all the effort that goes into making this type of animation, sets are made from scratch and they also did different experiments with materials and designs to create the puppets.
